Only orderly got regularization, others still struggling for their right: SPOs

Hiranagar, Jan 20: Alleging favoritism in regularization, SPOs pin pointed that only those who work in the houses of Police officers get regularization and favour of officers while rest still are fighting for the theor due rights courtesy negligence of the department.
"Department has not regularized SPOs since 1995 where most of them have attain overage criteria and unable to apply for recruitment, SPOs said.
In this regard, a delegation of Special Police Officers, SPOs, today called on Dr Nirmal Singh, BJP stalwart and MLA from Billawar Constituency and submitted a memorandum comprising several demands including Regularization.
During their meeting with MLA Billawer, SPOs apprised him that they are working since 1995 but continually facing negligence of the department. "30,000 SPOs work for 24 hours ironically their sacrifices and committed services the state government yet had not regularized despite many of them have served in peak militancy time for meager income of Rs 2988 per month. They also alleged that SPOs who work as orderly in the houses of top brass Police officers got regularized timely but rest still are deprived of their dues.
They also apprised that Punjab, Haryana and Jharkhand Government is paying Rs 15,000/- per month to each SPOs and have regularized all SPOs in due period but their fate yet has not changed reasons better known to authorities. SPOs said they have approached many time during this period of past twenty years for enhancing salary and regularization but no authority even any political party came to help to mitigate their genuine demands.
Dr Nirmal Singh paid a patient ear to their grievances and ensured to proceed with the demands to concerned authority where immediate inquiry shall be taken to sort out the menace.
Pertinently Supreme Court has also directed to the state Govt to regularize, the appointed SPOs and pay them according to regular Police force but state government yet to implement the Apex Court direction.
Dr Singh said, "The matter has already been discussed to Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister for redressal." He said Finance department too has recommended former J&K government to enhance the salary but nothing has been done till date.
