| University disobeyes Guv's Order: JSM demands decentralization of powers | | |

Jammu, Jan 20: The Jammu Students Morcha (JSM) has condemned University authorities for disobeying the Governor (Chancellor Jammu University) order for one person given one posts in the university administration. Vikram Kumar, State President JSM said that senior professors were calling the shots as they had been holding more than one prized position since long, notwithstanding it was poorly upsetting the normal functioning of the varsity. "Instead of adhocism and giving additional charge to some favorites, the Vice-Chancellor should go for a viable solution by filling these posts on permanent basis," he said.
He said that Dr Manoj K Dhar has been occupying five key positions in the university. Dr Manoj K Dhar has been portion as Register and Prof.Rajnikant has been portion as Director Ramnagar Campus. He is also holding the charge of Director, ASC.JAI Kumar Sharma has been given charge Special Secretary to VC, Manger Guest House and incharge Legal Cell. Prof.Dhian Singh Bhau has been given the charge of Director Physical Education, University of Jammu and also holding the charge of Director, Yoga.Prof.Jasber Singh has been given the charge of Provost Boys Hostel, Chairman NSS, besides Head FM Centre in campus.Dr. Vibhakar Mansotra, HOD Computer Science and Director Centre for ITES&M, University of Jammu.Prof Depankar sen has been given charge HOD Economic Deptt and OSD to examination Wing. Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, who was simply appointed as Coordinator, is at present holding the position of Director Reasi Campus, and Coordinator, all campuses. Prof.Archna Kesar has been given charge HOD Dogri and Director SVAPADA.
He demanded that need of the hour is to decentralize powers. It is highly condemnable that some professors have been given prized positions at the cost of normal functioning of the university. He appealed Chancellor of University to take cognizance of it and initiate measures to streamline the functioning." |
