Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 20 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report
samba, Jan 31: Police claimed to have foiled a major attempt to smuggle bovine animals in Samba District late last night and rescued 20 bovine animals from the clutches of bovine smugglers, police said. According to police spokesperson, during the routine Naka checking established by Police Station Samba and Police Post Supwal at Dhiani and Supwal respectively, police parties headed by Inspector Ravinder Parihar, SHO P/S Samba and SI Vikas Hans, Incharge PP Supwal, intercepted four vehicles carrying/transporting 20 bovine animals illegally towards Kathua.' However on seeing surprise police naka teams, the accused escaped from the spot abandoning their vehicles bearing Registration Numbers viz. JK08C-4057, JK08B-8406, JK08B-2371 and JK02AV-6496 which were seized by the police. Police teams during search of vehicles found 20 bovine animals being loaded in inhumane conditions which later were rescued by the District Police. Separate Cases against FIR No 20/2015, 21/2015. 22/2015 and 23/2015 u/s 188 RPC, 2/3 PC Act, 429 RPC stand registered at P/S Samba and investigation carried on. |
