GS Asgotra ET Report JAMMU, Feb 3: More than a year after eight posts of aircraft technicians were created by Civil Aviation department of J&K government, these posts have not been advertised by the department that works directly under the Chief Minister of the state. Sources informed Early Times that General Administration Department (GAD) had created eight posts of Aircraft technicians according to government order number No. 30- CAD of 2013, dated 2-9-2013 but after the lapse of more than one year, same posts were not advertised. The Civil Aviation Department (CAD), sources said, deals with the matters pertaining to operation of state aircrafts and helicopters for mobility of Governor, Chief Minister, VVIPs and officers of the State Government. The department also co-ordinates activities with Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and Union Ministry of Defence with regard to development of airstrips/airports and air connectivity to Nobra, Leh, Kargil, Gurez, Wardwan valley which remains cut off during peak winter season and also helps in rescue operations during natural calamities. According to government order, one post of Aircraft technician in Grade I, three posts in Grade II, and four posts in Grade III were created by department, but they could never see the light of the day. Sources further said that these technicians were imperative to maintain the aircrafts and keep them airworthy all the times in view of the fact that state has to be ready of rescue of stranded people in eventualities such as snow storms, avalanches, flash floods etc. Under Secretary of CAD, Arun Kumar Bajaj, when contacted, said that when the posts were created, they had regularized the already working Aircraft technicians while the remaining posts were forwarded to government for advertisement but so far same has not been forwarded. "Due to vacant posts, we have been facing difficulties , but hopefully, the posts would be advertised soon", he said. |
