JAMMU, Feb 13: Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Satesh Nehru reviewed the revised Master Plan of Jammu city at a meeting of concerned officers held at JDA complex, here today. Vice Chairman JDA, Mubarak Singh explained the outlines of Revised Master Plan and highlighted the necessity of the Master Plan- 2032. The Chief Town Planner JDA presented the details of first Master Plan which was framed in 1974 and approved in 1978 for a period of 20 years from 1974 to 1994. Subsequently, second Master Plan was framed for Jammu city for a period of 16 years from 2004 to 2021. It was highlighted that the present revised Master plan for Jammu city has been conceived to underline the vision of developing Jammu as a planned metro polis focusing on planned development, preservation of historic city, rejuvenation of urban environment, eradication problems of transportation, housing, adaptive mixed use policy and appropriate provision of social and physical infrastructure. The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC, Chief Engineer UEED, Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Engineer PDD, Chief Town Planner Jammu, Chief Architect J&K, Chief Town Planner JDA, Sr. Town Planner TPO, Sr. Architect JDA and others. |
