Two held, counterfeit currency worth Rs 20,500 recovered | | | Samba, Feb 13: Two persons were arrested alongwith Indian counterfeit currency worth Rs 20,000 during a raid conducted in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accused have been identified namely as Gaurav Gulati S/O KeemtiLal and Gurinder Singh S/O Gurumukh Singh, both residents of Jallandhar Punjab.Police spokesperson said, "Acting on specific information, police this morning intercepted a Santro Car bearing Registration No. PB06AL-9986 towards Kathua near Ghagwal area of Samba" "The nakka team headed by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of V P Singh, Dy SP HQ Samba, at Ghagwal made a major breakthrough in recovering fake currency from the occupants of car, police said adding, "during their personal frisking, fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 20500/- were recovered which was in the denomination of RS 1000/- (20 notes) and one in the denomination of Rs 500/-."Police arrested the duo on the spot and also seized the vehicle, police spokesperson said adding, that a case under FIR number 12/2015 under section 489-C of RPC has been registered and investigations are on. |
