Career awareness programme organized 2/13/2015 11:28:41 PM Kathua, Feb 13, Career Counseling cell Govt. Degree College for Women Kathua in collaboration with career counseling cell Department of Life Long Learning University of Jammu organized one day Career Awareness Programme on 13-02-2015 .The Programme was started with opening address of Prof Rakesh Singh Coordinator career counseling cell GDC for Women Kathua. In his address Prof Rakesh Singh highlighted the importance of such programs.Sham Khajuria Of Distt. Industry Centre Kathua , Pankaj Khajuria Asstt Professor Kathua Campus University of Jammu and Parveen Sharma, Asstt. Professor Computer science and Nodal Officer Uddan GDC Kathua were the resource persons. Sham Khajuria deliberated in detail about various schemes especially for women for entrepreneurship in department of industries and commerce. He exhorted students to take benefits of these schemes to start their own business ventures. Pankaj Khajuria gave a very comprehensive account of different job avenues for women students. He informed the audience in detail about the procedure and methods of preparation for various exams for entry into various fields. He urged upon the students to start preparation at the start of graduation. Parveen Sharma informed in detail about various hot avenues which can be opted as career and motivated them for consistent hard work to achieve success. He stressed upon self-assessment of each individual before opting any profession in life. Principal GDCW, Kathua Dr. Janak Singh Andotra was the chief guest and he stressed upon the students to be sincere with academics to excel upon in their career. A total of 160 students of college participated in the programme. Proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof Madhavi Prasher Co-Convenor Career Counseling cell.
