Three day workshop organized by ERA concludes | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 13: A three day workshop on GAP Analysis of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department Kashmir organized by Jammu & Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency (J&K ERA) at SKICC, Srinagar concluded here other day. In a press release, Public Relations Officer J&K ERA, Muhammad Azhar said the workshop was organized as part of capacity building component of Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Jammu and Kashmir Urban sector investment development programme (JKUSDIP) with an objective to prepare a vision document for further improvement of water supply system to meet the future needs of Greater Srinagar. The PRO said that the workshop focused group discussions with all the levels of staff in PHE department which included field level functionaries, technical staff and executive staff was held to arrive at a better understanding of financial, material and manpower gaps in the department. Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad Muzaffar Lankar, Chief Engineer PHE department Kashmir briefed participants about the present scenario of water supply in Srinagar city and proposed various valuable suggestions for incorporation in the vision document. Basharat Ahmad Malik, Director, Kashmir, J&K ERA stressed on the need for improvement in administrative, technical and manpower aspects to ensure that service delivery of PHE department is improved further. J&K ERA has hired services of reputed consultancy EPTISA/KPMG for preparation of comprehensive project report for institutional restructuring, improvement of operational efficiency, financial sustainability of PHED. |
