Jammu, Mar 21: An emergency meeting of Jammu Kashmir United School Teachers Association (USTA) was held under the chairmanship of Hari Singh and took a strong exception to the draconian order of government aiming at disengagement of ReTs from examination duties. According to press release, Singh said that it creates a wedge between different sections of the teaching community, and particularly derogatory to the vast section of teachers working in rural and far flung areas of the state. The order in question purportedly at the behest of education minister or the district administration is out rightly and out rightly anti-teacher and anti-academic and is condemned in every possible word. Meeting unanimously resolved after thread ware discussion and debate that present mass copying in the examinations is not because of the teachers who still work with more dedication, honesty and resourcefulness than any other section of the society. The declining educational standard is the direct outcome of rotten policies of the state that is complete commercialization of the educational services, normless system, bureaucratic, administrative and political interference in service matters and a system toeing the line of vested interests who are out to derail the entire process. Others who were present in the meeting were Rajeev Kumar, Julfkar Ali Malik, Shashi Pal Singh, Pradeep Singh, Shanti Saroop, Raj Kumar, Sham Lal, Surender Singh, Madan, Roop Lal and Darshan Lal etc. |
