SMVDU plight: No regular registrar, FO since its inception | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 21: Astonished it may sound but it is true that Shree Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), which was established at the foothills of Trikuta Hills, faces severe allegations of accommodating only the blue eyed as since its inception in 2004, no regular registrar and finance officer (FO) were appointed, nor university deems it logical to float the advertisement for these posts. Further, violating government order as regards the cancellation of extension of the employees, SMVDU authorities have allegedly forwarded a file to Raj Bhawan for the extension of services of FO Rohit Khajuria as his two years tenure is completing in near future. Rohit joined SMVDU on 13 April 2013.Earlier, he served in SMVDSB. If the sources are to be believed, Rohit, who retired from the government finance department had neither drawn his pension as yet nor he had allegedly submitted the copy of the same to SMVDU to fix his salary. Two other persons who have been enjoying re-employment included SMVDU Registrar Ajay Khajuria who attained superannuation as Director in government agriculture department, was re-employed on the behest of then Principal Secretary rank officer in mid February. Another officer V.K Bhat was allegedly dispatched to SMVDU by the state administration as departmental vigilance officer. The ball is now in Raj Bhawan's court as the Mufti-led government had issued order No 384-GAD of 2015 which read as: "All re-employment orders issued by the GAD are revoked with immediate effect, All engagements, arrangements made by different departments, public sector undertakings, boards, autonomous bodies under any scheme against sanctioned posts without any selection procedure, even on contractual basis shall cease to exist with immediate effect". A senior officer in SMVDU, when contacted, spoke on the condition of anonymity and said that the matter would be looked into once SMVDU authorities go through the government order. |
