Dozen terrorists have infiltrated into Kathua region: IB tells HM | Vaishno Devi shrine under militant threat | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 21: After today's fresh attack in Samba district of Jammu, 2nd in the last 24 hours, Intelligence Bureau (IB) has alerted the Union Home Ministry about more such terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir, including at the holly shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi situated in Trikuta hills of Katra. As per the details available with "Early Times", the IB in its report to Union Home Ministry has stated that around one dozen terrorists have managed to sneak into the Indian side prior to the yesterday's Kathua terror attack in which seven people including three security personnel, two civilians and two militants were killed. Sources said that IB in its report stated that after entering into Indian territory, these one dozen terrorists divided themselves into smaller groups. Two of them carried out the today's attack at Maheswar Army Camp of infantry Division. IB has also stated that Vaishno Devi shrine is the possible terror target and adviced the government to further strengthen the security grid around the shrine where lakhs of pilgrims are visiting these days due to the ongoing Navratras. Sources said that IB had also intimated the government about movement of over 60 terrorists close to Indian border fence who were eagerly waiting to infiltrate into Jammu region to carry out terror activities. The IB has also informed the government about the possibility of the terror attacks in major cities of India. After the IB input, the union government shared the details with state government and adviced it to take necessary steps to strengthen the security cover around the key installations including famous religious places. Sources said the J&K police had taken a massive security review and also strengthened the security all along the National Highway, around security forces camps and around key government offices. Sources said that security forces were also keeping an eye on some possible local helpers of the terrorists. Efforts were also on to trace out the militants believed to have entered the Indian Territory. The security forces have also urged the general public to report any suspected movement to nearby police station. |
