Jammu, Mar 21: Hindus of Kashmir has high hopes that the present government would fulfil its commitment to enact the temples and shrines bill for the protection of the temples and shrines in the valley of Kashmir. According to press release, Dr R L Bhat, the chief spokesperson of the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust, said that both the parties in power today are cogniziant of the need for the protection and preservation of the temple heritage of Kashmir and have given definitive promises to bring the temples and shrines bill. Various speakers at the general body meeting pointed to the commitment by the leaders of both PDP and BJP that they would enact the bill, to facilitate the creation of a democratically elected Shrine Board through an act of the legislature. The meeting attended by wide spectrum of the PNBMT general body was presided over by H N Pandit and coordinated by Shadi Lal Koul, general secretary. Among those how attended the meeting were, A N Pandita, B L Hando, R L Bhat, M K Bharat, R K Bhat, Manmohan Thaplo, B L Saraf, Shiban Khaibri, H L Bhat, Roshan Lal Pandita, B L Bhat, M K Jalali, Sundri Lal Koul, M L Ganjo, M K Wanto, B L Zar. The meeting also noted that the exiled people were united in their struggle and had credible leadership spearheading the burning issues of the community. The temple and shrine bill was one such demand on which whole body of the Hindus of Kashmir were united. The whole spectrum of the exiled samaaj, including diaspora was behind this demand. The issue itself was a credible lead in the community and must be respected as such. |
