DC for action against non-performing revenue officials

Jammu, Mar 24: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary issued directions for initiation of strict disciplinary action against non-performing revenue officials including Tehsildars, Naib-Tehsildars, Patwaris and other officials.
According to press release, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed has been entrusted with review of their monthly progress on revenue matters and public service delivery. The decision was taken in a meeting of revenue officers convened at district headquarters to review the redressal of public grievances, departmental works and related issues.
The DC called for rewarding the performing officers and initiating strict action against officials who could not perform the required tasks in last 2 months especially related to field work and public grievances. He reviewed the progress on inspection of village revenue records with every tehsildar entrusted to inspect records of 5 villages in a month, furnishing of reports, public service guarantee, public meetings, monitoring of essential services and supplies, law & order matters and preparation for Girdawri with greater public involvement.
The DC stressed upon regular public meetings and review of departmental related public grievances at patwar halqa level, availability of patwaris at designated places, involvement of public in forthcoming girdawri and associating other departments, prompt disposal of complaints, inquiries and submission of report reports. A comprehensive review of rates proposed for revision of stamp duty was also undertaken. Tehsildars have been asked for monitoring the situation in villages along international border and holding regular meetings in villages.
Addl DC impressed upon the officials for timely filing of reports and extensive field touring which will be reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner on fortnightly basis. Officers were asked for regular monitoring of attendance in government offices and educational institutions on regular basis. Various issued faced by field officials were also discussed in the meeting.
