7549 militancy victims get pension in JK

Srinagar, Mar 24: 7,549 militancy-hit victims among 5.80 lakh people are getting pension under various schemes in Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister for Social Welfare Bali Bhagat said Tuesday in a written reply to the question of NC member Mian Altaf Ahmed in the Legislative Assembly.Of these, 5,72,948 people are getting pension from Rs 200 to Rs 700 per month under centrally sponsored schemes and 7,549 militancy-hit victims are getting pension of Rs 750 per month under militancy category, he said.
3,944 get pensions under widows category, 2,525 old age persons get pension besides 1,080 under handicapped and disabled category, he added. Similarly, 14,6804 old age people get pension of Rs 200 per month followed by 13,3944 widows and divorcees with Rs 200 pension and 14,1752 physically handicapped persons getting pension of Rs 400 per month.
1,39,325 people are getting pension of Rs 400 under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme followed by 8,334 people under Indira Gandhi Widows Pension Scheme and 2,789 under Indira Gandhi Disability Pension Scheme.
