| Know how about the social struc ture of any civilization. One have to look into the history of socio-political, religious, economical, art, cultural heritage & thinking aspect of life. Only yard stick is to know about the status of women. 'She who enjoying in their society. Leaving "Vedic period" when there was saying that:
"Y ATRA NARI POOJYANTE RAMTE TATRA DEVT A"
Women were enjoying respectful & dignified position in the society and as well as in the darbar that was Golden Period for women when there was no gender discrimination and enjoys the equal rights, even liberty to select their marriage partner/husband under "SWAMBER" traditions. Beside that one can quote the names of few legend women i.e. Gargi, Matri, Lopamudra were regarded & enjoying the status or saintly figure.
Soon after under the influence of Manu Simrira who have introduced worst kind of caste system of code of conduct for each caste and also teachings of Puranas both had given the impression with their narrow thinking and rigid mind set, cherish the idea that women is a inferior than man and considered be a commodity and also floated the idea that they were biggest obstruction in religions ritual, worship, meditation in the way of attaining spiritual salvation.
Since than respect & honour of the woman has been declined in man dominated society upto the extend that birth of Female become cursed (Sharp) not only for a child but to the mother of child and subjected to suffered humiliation torture and abuse. More over the women during menstrual period and also at the delivery has been considered to be untouchable and not allowed to take part in any domestic work. Beside this, every Indian family have tendency of intense desire gettintg Ist male child has given the birth to the idea of "killing of female new born child". These were the real causes which freated hatredness & criminal activities against women. This has given further birth to the idea that women is a soft target for sexual assualt and outrage molestation freely without any fear of law and society of male dominance. Even the birtyh fo Female children never had been greeted or celebrated as auspicious occasion. The immoral & unethical act of outrage molestation by the Raj dev Inder & act of Ravan's and Koravs have given encouragement to our society in their thinking that comrmtting crime on women is not that serious because Rulers Rishi Munies have never condemned & strictly prohibited such kind of immoral activities that's why our society had never learnt any lesson from history, Even existing evil like Devdassi Pratha, Caste system, child marriage, Dowry, Sati Pratha & Female feticide, illiteracy etc, many other socio-political, economical & reI igious factor had played the pivotal role to deprive the women from her basic rights since ages, Even a Saint like Tulsi Dass' thinking has brought hell of women upto the extend that treat women like animality & also educationally deprived. That full of vulgarity, immorality, Flash trade degraded human beings covering all sections of society. 'He' has revealed that under the influence of 'Kalyug that so called religious people cou Id not escape from the bad impact of evil deeds, Even the Kings who were _ upposed to protect the life, property, honour and dignity of the women and masses as a whole were out and out to loot those aspects of their lives, Men & women divorcing their morality and modesty at throw way price, Ill deeds and malpractices were order of the day all over the world.
He further says that men & women had list their control over senses as a result of which socio-political order was highly polluted to sinful progeny produced by such morally degraded society. Do you think that as comparing today mind of behavioural aptitude of the society no less corrupt & immoral in term of morality and human character regarding illegal flesh trade inspite of modern education and development after Independence which has gone thousand time high and visible every where openly in all sections of society from top to bottom. Keep extra sexual relation becomes status symbol of life in high societies.
So, high Moral value is supreme in Sikhism especially for "Sexual activities" Code of conduct is very crystal clear. One should indulge in such activities only after legal marriage and ordered through teaching in Gurbani described in holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib:-
"Aeka Nari Jatee Hoe, Pernari Dhee, Behan Pachhane".
Keeping one legal wife and having intercourse is a personified for the character person in eyes God and enjoy the respect in society. From him other "Women world" is like daughters, sisters and mothers.
Hundred of examples can be quoted from Sri Guru Granth Sahib for all mankind where repeatedly advised or strictly prohibited not to indulge in such kind of extra sexual activities or commit sexual assault on otehr women. In this regard Sri Guru Gobind singh Ji (10th Guru) has gone up to the extend and ordered that-
“Nij Nari Ke Sang beh Tum Nit Badayeoh
Per Nari Ke Sej Bhool Supne Hoona Jio”
One should keep loving his legal wife more and more with the passage of time and never think sharing the company of other women even in his dream is highly admirable.

Even sale and purchase of the women and young girls in the open market was the common practice also encouraged the crime against the women.
In this regard the great thinker visionary, revolutionary and socio-political reformer Jagat Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Gurbani has described worst kind of socio-political order in term of prevailing immorality. 500 years ago in following Shalkos. He has quoted as below:
“Kali (Kalyug) Ander Nanka Jinna Da Avtar Put Janoora Dhee Janoori Jordoo Jinha Da Sikdar Page-556).
In another Shalkos- “Ranna Hoiya Bodhiya Pursh Hoie Saeeaar Seel Sanjam Such Bhanee Khana Khaj Ahaj” (page-1243)
What is happening with the women to-day was the result, based on old age inherited practice of the man dominated mentality with rigid mind set of behavioural aptitude toward their “Jaani” after the 67 yrs of Independnece. Inspite of having full flaged ministryof empowerment and women justice of many other acts & law-enforcing agencies and criminal justice system unable to control the inhuman atrocities and sexual assaults on women in running trains and vehicles on the road as well like Delhi. Bombay etc. with out any fear of punishment even at th cost of their honour and dignity.
Why its so with the women? If one deeply think & analysis the state of mind set and psychology of human beings one shold find out that intense desire of casting evil eyes on other property, other women and habit of criticizing others unnecessarily as per saying in Gurbani:
Perdhan, Pertan, Perninda, Perapuadna Chhute

These three evils never leave individual through out life. Further quoted a “Kam Karodh Nagar Bahu Bharia” Lust and anger completely fill this town (human body) these evil habits instigate the corrupt & immoral activities. Gurbani further says:
“Kartut Pashu Ki Manas Jath”
Bad deeds of a person with animal instinct will commit heinous act and claimed to be a human. This clear cut indicates that domestic & sexual assault against women will never being eradicated with any reforms until and unless our mind set and behaviournal attitude aganst women at each family level will not change. Only solution is to impart moral and ethical education. As per the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji said most meaningful comment about women is ‘She’ who bears the best of humans. How should be coneemned as ‘Bad.’
“So Kion Manda Adhiye Jit Jame Rajan”
So there is a no reason to dis-respect, dishonor and insult to the women who she gives birth even to the king. Nank further said:
“Akhe Sutak Vekhna Per Triya Per Dhan Per Roop”
Even casting evil eyes upon others women her beauty and other property is a sinful act. He further advocate pay ful respect and highly admire the women world in the shape of mother, sister and daughter as er their status. Further code of conduct was indulge in sexual intercourse with legally married wife. Always try to make your “Home Haven” maintain all kind of dignity and transparency. Never hide any thing with your beloved wife and children adn never speak lie. Treat both male and female child equally without any gender discrimination. Even enjoy the birth of female child with full bloom with the blessing of God and see that almighty will never let uyou down in your throughout life.
As per sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji further described as under:
“Ghar Sukh vasya Bhiar Sukh Paya
Kaho Nanak Gur Manter Diraya” (Page-1136)
‘He’ has expounded the “Truth” that if one can drive peace and happiness with in the family. One shall always find peace and happiness and harmony coupled with respect and honour in abundance out side also.
Solution: Change mind set adn attitude
1. Respect and honour the women at home without any gender discrimination.
2. Total reform in education system and introduce moral and ethical values as a separate subject in the cariculum of schools, colleges and universities level both in govt and private institution to built the “Natinal Character” which is at the lowest ebb at present.
“Vidya Vichari Tan Paropkari”
Knowledge based on moral and ethical values with wisdom is benefited and benevolent for the whole mankind. (Sri Guru Granth Sahib)
Also bring uniformity in Edcuation at Urban and Rural areas as well. More priority should be given to the female child and children belonging to down trodden and slum section of society.
3. Condemned all kind of rituals, traditional and irrational superstitutions which are harmful and degraded the honour and dignity of the women i.e. Sutak, dowry and f. feticide.
4. Give them equal opportunity in all walk of life. Even 30% representation on legislation and parliament house, and create congenial atmosphere at work lace and foolproof security to travel freely alone any where they want in the country without ny far.
5. Police reforms, judicial reforms, election reforms are very essential to implement and give more autonomy to te CBI as a independent investigator body. Time frame invesgitaion of criminal related cases of east track justice.
6. Censorship on those advertising agencies, print and electronic medial, T.V. serials, cinema, films, even health clinic who propagate the vulgarity, rape, or sexual assault scene committed against women and sale their product, projecting nudity of women up to the extend that showing openly and marketing the use of men and power tablets like vagra and ohter ayurvedic product instigating the intense desire of sex to test their Mardangi like men force scene. These all products are setting freely without any doctor’s prescriptions needs to be banned immediately under strict alw ot check the objectionable scene. Nudity and vulgarity which is spreading very fastly and visible in the society at all level. Prono literature should also be abnned.
7. During police investigation regarding the FIR registeed against any assault committeed on women e.g domestic violence eve teasing, rape or molestatin should also take the cognizance of those false cases against men and family members sometime lodged by women victim out of zealously or revengeful attitude to settle the score.
8. One should amend their language before speak because in our socity there is common practice to abuse their mother, sister and insulting them frequently since ages. So there is need to organize awareness camps to cultivate the habit to use of soft langugage as per Nanak teachigns:
“Nanak Phika Bholiye Tan-Man Phika Hoe”
9. ICOn of the society i.e. religious preachers, political leaders, cinme celebrities, doctors, engineers, teachers, professors, IAS, IPS officers. social workers and advocates and jujdges should take the pledge not to indulge in malpractice, bribe, corruption and immoral activities and give full respect and honour to the women world. Enough is enough. Now ime has come that “change we need” to build civilized and developd nation in term of observing high moral and ethical values in all walks of life and follow the doctrine of “Honesty” is the “best policy” the only solution to tackle all evils prevailing in our society.
Kya Abhi Insaan Banana Baki Hai.” Are we living in hypocrisy or are we a civilized society or we still abusing human right values. ARe we living in state fo self deceptions as per sayig in Gurbani.

10. Being strong and effective law to tackle the aministration of the essential eatable commodities, black marketing, polluting environment of cities, smoking and drug abuse etc. to create healthy and hygienic atmosphere to avoid spread of dreaded diseases.
11. Castration and death in rare of the rare cases can be considered otherwise capital rigorous life imprisonment is recommended.
12. Law can be amended in case of minor culprits varying age group between 14 to 17 those who committed rare of rare kind of crimes, should be treated under major category so that ‘Pawan’ like under age criminal committed heinous kind of act i.e. rape cum death unprecedented crime in the history of crimes agianst DAMNI on 16th Dec 2012 which have shakened not only our country but across the world even United Nation’s secretary general could not stand aloof and strongly condemned this ghostly rape episode agianst women can not be tolerated. i.e. “Nirbhiya case.”
13. There is a dire need to chnge rigid mind set and behavoural aptitude of our leadership and governing aparatus and society as a whole. Because by and large we Indian and crock and liar by nature.
14. Complete banning the “Khap Panchayat” to avoid biased and irrelevant judgement especially against the women and newly couple married in same ‘goter’ and love marriage in the sme village.
15. Give maximum emplyment to te women in police department and other cncerned field.
I am of the opinion that no law of the earth and amount of punishment will resolve the sexual crime because Kama is such a powerful stimulation or intensive deisre to indulge in sexual activities with any body without realizing its bad result such a uncontrollable urge when human being turned animality at that time one can not see the cast creed, colur and religions of the victim.
All these inner instinct e.g. Kama, Karodh (Anger), Lobh (Greed), Moh (Attachment), Ahankar (Pride, Ego) or impulsive emotions in its own limit and control within means are beneficial for the development and growth of mankind’s life. But beyond control it spoils the individual’s respect, honour, dignity and quality of life.
So, solution is lying within high thinking and change of rigid mentalty observing morality and ethical values, self control, self realization attaining through meditation and spirituality to avoid unscrupulous immoral and corrupt practices. govt. apparatus and socio-political leaders should realize to check the growing criminality across the country applying their wisdom, simplicyt and honesty in public life.
