Kathua, Apr 21: A two-day Mega Placement Drive under Project, UDAAN of Govt of India in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) commenced here today at Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua. According to college spokesperson, Principal of the College Dr B L Gupta inaugurated the programme in the College Auditorium in which sixteen corporate houses like Accenture, Apollo Technical Education foundation, Shristi Infrastructure, BTSPL, IMS Health, GenPact, IL&FS, Manpower Group Services, Mount Talent, Multicare Services(India Pvt. Ltd.), RAXA Securities, Reliance HR Services, Rooman Technologies, Orion Security Solutions, Sahej e-Village, S.E-Biz participated and atleast 70 unemployed graduates and post graduates of district Kathua were registered on first day of this mega placement drive on merit basis." "The selected candidates will be provided a training for a period of 3-6 months and a stipend of Rs 2500/- pm alongwith free boarding, lodging, meals besides free to and fro journey, he added. In his address Principal Dr B L Gupta thanked the UDAAN authorities and corporate houses for choosing the venue of GDC Kathua for providing employment opportunities to Kathua youth. The Mega event was facilitated under the guidance of college UDAAN Coordinator Prof Parveen Sharma while Prof PK Rao, Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia, Prof Pankaj Nandan, Dr Suram Singh, Prof Naresh Sharma, Dr Balbinder Singh also volunteered their services. |
