Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 21: There is some relief for the PDP-BJP alliance government to fill up its vacant administrative posts as the Government of India has decided repatriation of at least five IAS officers who were on Central deputation for different tenures . The alliance government which has been waiting for this move will now order postings of these officers against some senior level Administrative Secretaries' posts which have been lying vacant and in stop gap arrangement held by officers as additional charge.
Sources said the Union government has decided to repatriate five senior officers following decision of the state government to call them back on urgent basis. Out of these five senior officers the government would in right earnest fill up the posts of Home Secretary , Chief Electoral Officer and that of ERA head, which are vital with respect to functioning of these crucial departments . Sources said while the state government has been requisitioning the centre to send back the offices on central deputation, the state cabinet on Sunday decided afresh to call back fiver senior IAS officers of J&K cadre who presently are on deputation to the central government.Sources further said that the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, decided to bring back Naveen Choudhary, Dheeraj Gupta, Atal Duloo, A K Mehta and R K Goel and this move has given impetus to the efforts to have the officers on some important postings in the state.
Sources further said that by the time Darbar shifts to Srinagar, these five officers would report back to J&K following which the government in its first cabinet meeting at Srinagar would order their new postings. Pertinently, most of the vacant posts have been given to senior most bureaucrat BR Sharma as additional charge , even as he is essentially looking after Planning Department as Commissioner Secretary. Out of repatriated officers, one of them would be deputed as Secretary to newly established department of Relief and Rehabilitation by the state government, sources added.
With these officers joining back, officials said this leaves quite a few officers on central deputation which they said is less than prescribed norms of deputation.
