Jammu, Apr 21: In a bizarre incident that took place in Nanak Nagar locality the previous day, armed assailants attacked the businessman with an intention to loot him in the bloom of Monday evening. The noted local trader was seriously injured after he was attacked by a group of unidentified group of 15 to 16 goons, armed with sharp edged weapons , leaving him grievously injured. A police spokesman said that the incident took place at around 7.40 pm when the victim, Neeraj Gupta ( 25), son of Satish Kumar Gupta, resident of Nanak Nagar, Jammu, was sitting at his cargo service office at Nanak Nagar. One of the assailants entered the shop and suddenly, attacked the victim. He was soon joined by his accomplices, carrying swords and tokas and they targeted his head and other vital parts of body in obvious bid to kill him. However, leaving him in pool of blood, they escaped from the scene. The injured was rushed to GMC Hospital, Jammu. He received multiple injuries on his head , besides other parts of the body and is struggling for life. Gandhi Nagar police have registered an FIR number 90 dated April 20,2015., Meanwhile, a senior police officer when contacted informed that hunt on the part of police was in progress. |
