Zulfkar, Ganga lay foundation of Gujjar & Bakkerwal hostel

JAMMU, Apr 21: Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali today said that J&K can achieve progress and prosperity only when all its residents get equal opportunities of growth and development.
The Minister said this at a function organised in connection with the foundation laying ceremony of Gujjar & Bakkerwal hostel at Samba today.
The hostel is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore.
The Minister asked the executing agency to work on the project on fast-track basis to ensure its completion within 18 months. He also stressed for use of quality material in the construction work.
Referring to composite culture and strong democratic set up of the state, the Minister said our priority is to provide equal opportunity of development and welfare to all the three regions of state irrespective of creed, caste and colour. "Our mission is to extend equitable development to all", he maintained.
Zulfkar said the endeavour of the government is to formulate a well knit strategy to take care of development needs of tribals besides ensuring implementation of various welfare programmes for their socio-economic emancipation.
Highlighting the efforts of present administration in restructuring the infrastructure edifice in the state, the Minister said that such initiatives would further enhance the availability of basic services to the weaker sections of the society.
Minister for I&C, Chander Prakash Ganga, while speaking on the occasion, said that government's priority is to provide a congenial atmosphere for everyone so that they can easily reap the benefit of various schemes meant for their betterment. He said that various reformative measures are being taken at all levels to ensure responsive and accountable dispensation to the people.
Among others present were Deputy Commissioner, Samba, SSP besides senior officers and prominent citizens.
