PPCPL : BCC Bulls,Kashmir Steel Warriors win ties

JAMMU, Apr 23 : The BCC Bulls and Kashmir Steel Warriors emerged winners in their respective ties to strengthen their position in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today. In first match of the day, BCC Bulls defeated Simula Superstars by 43 runs. After winning the toss and batting first, BCC Bulls scored 105 runs losing all their wickets. Satish (21) and Ahmer (17) were top scorers. From Simula Superstars, Hilal Rather, Hardeep Singh and Kuldeep took two wickets each. In reply, Simula Superstars were bundled out for just 62 runs in 15.5 overs. Dhruv with 15 and Shashi with 12 runs were the main scorers. From BCC Bulls, Amir Sofi was bowled deadly spell taking away five wickets while Owais Shah secured two. For his match winning haul, Amir Sofi was named man of the match. Meanwhile, Kashmir Steel Warriors also won their tie beating Chenab Tigers. Kashmir Steel Warriors, batting first, scored huge 175 runs for nine wickets. Abid Nabi remained highest scorer with 67 runs while Pranav Gupta and Rahul Musa added 38 and 18 runs respectively. From Chenab Tigers, Asif Rasool took two wickets, followed by Safqat , Abid Mushtaq, Adil Reshi, Raman Dutta and Zahid Mugal, who shared apiece each. In reply, Chenab Tigers managed only 127 runs in 18.4 overs losing all their wickets to lose the match by 48 runs. Adil Reshi and Shafqat Baba were main scores with 22 runs each. Nazir took four important wickets while Abid Nabi bagged two. Abid Nabi was obvious choice for the man of the match award of Rs 3,000. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Danesh Rana was chief guest while DIG Shakeel Beig was guest of honour in today's matches.
FIXTURE : The JKP Tigers shall take on Banihal Knight Riders at 10 am while Jammu Royal Choice shall meet Kashmir Steel Warriors at 2 pm tomorrow.
