JAMMU, Apr 23: At a function held at the Raj Bhavan here today, N.N. Vohra, the Governor, released a book titled "Dogri Ekanki" and two comic books in Dogri language. The book and the two comics have been translated and published by the Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, with financial support from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
The Governor congratulated the Dogri Sanstha for bringing out a volume which contained selected one-act Dogri plays translated into Hindi. He observed that the publication of the Hindi version of well known Dogri one-act plays would contribute towards the promotion of Dogri language and make its literature known all over India and beyond. The Governor advised the Sanstha to explore the possibility of securing wider circulation of its publications, both within and outside the State.
The volume of one-act plays has been edited by Prof. Lalit Magotra. The authors whose one-act plays have been translated from Dogri to Hindi include Chattrapal, Dr. Manoj, Jatinder Sharma, Narinder Khajuria, Dr. Om Goswami, Raj Rahi, Jagdish Dubey, Desh Bandhu Dogra Nutan, Mohan Singh, N.D. Jamwal and Madan Mohan Sharma. Two comic books, which were also released at today's function, published on the format of Amar Chitra Katha Publications, are on 'Kabir' which has been translated in Dogri by Prof. Shashi Pathania and 'Jhansi Di Rani' which has been translated by Prof. Lalit Magotra. On this occasion Dr. S.S. Bloeria and Prof. Dr. Ved Ghai, Members, Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Katra; P. K. Tripathi, Principal Secretary to the Governor; Dr. Mandeep Bhandari, CEO, SMVDSB; M.K. Kumar, Additional CEO, SMVDSB; S.A. Laherwal, Director General, Libraries; Pankaj Gupta, Deputy CEO, SMVDSB; Sh. Chhatarpal, President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu; Prof. Lalit Magotra; Ginneshwar Sharma; Narinder Bhasin; Dr. Jitendra Udhampuri; Prof. Shashi Pathania; Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma; Dr. Om Goswami; Sh.
