PDP welcomes changing criterion for compensation for damaged crops

Jammu, Apr 23: PDP thanked Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed for coming to rescue of farmers by lowering the damage percentage for compensation of damaged crops.
Addressing a meeting of senior party leaders of Bishnah Zone, Party general secretary Daman Bhasin thanked the state government led by Mufti Mohd Sayeed for revising the criterion for compensation for damaged crops from 50 percent to 33 percent damage. He hoped that govt will immediately start to access the losses and disbursement of compensation to the affected farmers.
While reviewing the political activities in Bishnah zone with Satpal Charak, FC Bhagat, Chatter Saini, Yashpal Bhagat, Bhagwan Dass and others, the party leaders expressed confidence in the political vision, administrative skill and experience of its party president and hoped that state will soon be out of the crisis caused due to previous mis-governance and the system failure.
The meeting decided to gear up the PDP cadre in the entire Jammu region for making the party more effective in setting a right discourse for execution of PDP agenda.
Leaders told Bhasin that people of border areas are facing a lot of problems due recent heavy rains and hail storm. They said that a large number of electric poles are damaged due to which almost entire borders areas are without electricity supply.
They appealed the govt authorities to replace the damaged poles to ensure power supply. They also appealed repair of damaged roads and desilting of canal and their distributeries.
