Jammu, Apr 23: Eminent advocate and social activist Seema Khajooria has been appointed as the Senior Additional Advocate General (SAAG) by the state government. According to a press statement, Seema Khajooria is the first woman to be appointed as Senior Additional Advocate General in the state and was also the first woman lawyer to be appointed as an Additional Advocate General in 2005. The statement further stated that having a brilliant academic career Ms Khajooria has four Gold medals in her credit. Besides this she has also excelled in debates , dramatics , sports, has been a student leader and is also a prolific writer, it said further adding, "She is also active in public life and is associated with a number of organisations, is a member of the State Managing Committee of Red Cross Society, member Governing Body is Association for Social a Health in India(J&K chapter) , member State Supervisory Board under the PC&PNDT Act." The statement said other achievements and credits in her name include that she is also a Member of City Advisory Board of CHILDLINE, Member Academic Council of Government College For Women, Parade ( an autonomous college), President Alumini Association Government College for Women , Gandhi Nagar. "Her major thrust in social life is the empowerment of women, it said. |
