JAMMU, May 5: After being stopped for three days, hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, left Kashmir valley for Jammu as only up convoy was allowed for three days from May 2 to allow smooth movement of vehicles, carrying darbar move officials from winter capital to summer capital. There was only one way traffic from Jammu to Srinagar for three days on the highway, linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, a traffic police official said here. The offices reopened in summer capital, Srinagar today. However, hundreds of passenger and other vehicles, including empty trucks and oil tankers left different parts of the valley to Jammu after three days. The Spokeperson said no vehicle was allowed from Jammu. Meanwhile, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintainance of the highway has already put into service sophisticated machines and men to remove all hurdles to make it two-way. |
