Rajendra chairs senior police officers meeting, stresses for coordinated efforts

SRINAGAR, May 5: Following durbar move, Police Headquarters (PHQ) resumed functioning at Summer Capital here today. Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar inspected various sections of PHQ and enquired about their working.
Rajendra was received at the PHQ lawns by senior police officers and presented a guard of honour by the contingent of Armed Police. He was accompanied by Additional Directors General of Police, SP. Vaid, VK. Singh, SM Sahai, Dilbag Singh and L Mohanti.
Expressing his satisfaction over the advance arrangements made for smooth re-opening of the offices, the DGP said that efforts need to be followed continuously to bring more efficiency in day-to-day working. He said that quick disposal of the matters related to strengthening of subordinate units should be ensured at PHQ level, which would help to bring fruitful improvements in their working.
Rajendra chaired a meeting of senior police officers and discussed various administrative issues to strengthen professional policing. He was briefed about the progress achieved on different fronts of policing in the State. He asked the officers to put in place fruitful efforts and enhance capabilities of different wings of the Organization. He said that the requirements for the summer season should be consolidated and required formalities followed so that infrastructure is strengthened to bring better results.
Rajendra, while discussing security and law and order scenario, emphasised to ensure coordinated efforts with other agencies and keep the peace maintained. He said that security of vital installations needs to reviewed periodically to take required steps.
The meeting also took review of traffic functioning in the valley and it was informed that comprehensive action plan needs to be prepared for streamlining the traffic systems. DGP asked to ensure strict compliance of traffic rules and the action plan so that the efforts undertaken bring good results.
The meeting also took note of other issues regarding availability of uniforms. DGP asked for providing timely uniforms to the jawans and officers including traffic personnel and SPOs making them visible and smart in the field so that they could represent the Organization in a better way
Later, the DGP visited other moving police establishments including Traffic, Crime, CID, Railway, Armed, Security, Housing, ZPHQ, Home-guards and SSG Headquarters. He interacted with the concerned officers and stressed to focus on public service and ensure a secure, peaceful atmosphere in the State, in coordination with the people.
Among others, the meeting was attended by IGPs, Dr. B Srinivas, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, SJM Geelani, AG Mir, MS Salaria, MA Khan, Mukesh Singh, MA Ganai and J.P Singh, Director SSG, SA Mujtaba, DPT, Hilal Ahmed, AIGPs, Sheikh Junaid Mahmood, Rajeshwar Singh, Tahir Sajjad, Kulbir Singh, SZ Azad, Sr. ADO (PHQ), BA Shah and other police officers.
