Big wins for Khalsa, SCC in Chevrolet Cup

Jammu, June 23 : Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) and Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup Tournament at KC Public School grounds, here today.
In the first match of the day, Khalsa Club defeated Singh Cricket Club by a comfortable margin of 53 runs. Batting first, after winning the toss, Khalsa set target of 154 runs. Harpreet Singh and Surinder were top scorers with 52 and 27 runs in their respective accounts. From Singh Club, Sunny and Deepak shared two wickets each.
In reply, Singh Club bowled out for 100 runs in 18.1 overs. Chandan remained top score with 36 runs while Dilwar added 19 runs. Kullu and Abhishek Salathia shared two wickets each. Harpreet Singh of KCC was declared man of the match. Meanwhile, in other match of the day, Shastri Club outplayed Striker Cricket Club by a huge margin of 56 runs. Shastri Club after winning the toss and decided to bat, made 129 runs. Rompy and Aavesh were main scorers with 41 and 19 runs in their respective accounts. Chander took two wickets while KK bagged one. Later, Striker Club could not chase the total losing all their wickets for 73 runs in 18.1 over. Except for Jimmy, who made 21 runs, no other batsman could touch the double figure mark. Rompy emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets. He was followed by Sahil with who secured three wickets. Romy was obvious choice for man of the match title. Both the outstanding performers, named man of the match, were given away Westside coupons worth Rs 500 each.
Today's matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Sadiq Hussain Malik, Abhijot Singh, Honey Chib, Rajinder Singh, Bunty and Honey Chib.
