Natrang honours 75 young child artists

Jammu, July 21: Natrang honoured 75 young child artists in the Children Theatre Extravaganza held at Matrika Auditorium, SMVD University, Katra who participated in the plays 'Matilda' (English) and 'Remix' (Hindi) directed by Aarushi Thakur and Sumeet Sharma respectively.
According to press release, the honours were done by Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Sangeeta Gupta who was Chief Guest on the occasion.
Earlier welcoming the august gathering, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur dwelt in detail about the children theatre initiative of Natrang Jammu which Natrang initiated about 25 years back. Over 5000 children have been trained in theatre by Natrang in its regular theatre camps past 25 years.
On the average Natrang organises about three camps in a year in addition to this it runs a children weekend club which works regularly everySaturday and Sunday for around the year expect for the month of March when children remain busy in examinations. This summer Natrang organised two workshops one at KC Sports Club Jammu and second at its Studios in Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
The Chief Guest of the programme Sangeeta Gupta appreciated the young children for their fabulous performances and also had special appreciation for the parents who encourage their children to take part in these kinds of creative activities.
She further said that children who are involved in such creative activities, amazingly excel in every sphere of life.
