Jammu, July 21: PDP leader Vikram Singh Bhadwal today urged Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner to take the necessary step and demolish encroachments made on Nullahs. According to press release, Bhadwal said that continuous rain for few hours create a lot of problems to common man in area of Rajinder Nagar, Jewel, Chand Naggar. "The rain water overflow from drains and entered into houses, shops and damaged the household items as well as damaged the items of shopkeepers", he said, adding that it is all due to negligence of Khilafwarzi wingh of JMC who helps encroachers to encroach land of Nallahs which are now converted into deep drains and maximum of drains are covered and gets chocked due to polythene bags and water overflows on lanes. Use of polythene is also main reason of chocking drains in out-shirt of old city, despite of ban polythene bags are easily available in market, manufacturing of polythene bag should be banned so that no production no utilization. Even as a responsible citizens of Jammu we should not use polythene bags and also aware others to do not use polythene bags. We should soon start a awareness program among citizens to don't use polythene as polythene is not eco-friendly. |
