Police arrests rape accused

BANIHAL, July 21: Police today claimed to arrest a person in Sumbhar ares of Ramban district who was wanted in a rape case against a minor girl few days ago. As per police reports, a complaint has been received on July 15, 2015 at Police Station Dhamkund by one Nizam Din resident of Dhamkund that his minor daughter has been raped by one Tariq Hussain son of Gulam Rabbani, a Forest Guard, resident of Sumbhar, Tehsil and District Ramban on 15.07.2015. Police reports said that Tariq has allegedly kidnapped the minor girl, a student of Class 9th and raped her. On hearing the cries of the girl, some locals passing from there saved the girl and the accused Tariq Hussain escaped from the spot. After the complaint police has registered a case under FIR No. 15/2015 u/s 376 RPC at Police station Dhamkund. After hectic efforts, the accused was arrested on Tuesday from upper reaches of Sumbhar some 20 kilometers of Ramban town. The arrest has been made by SHO Police station Dhamkund under the supervision of Arun Gupta, Addl. SP Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
