Kathua, Aug 29 : Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Women College, Kathua organized Multi-lingual Mushaira in the Auditorium of Women College, Kathua. District Development Commissioner, Kathua Romesh Kumarwas Chief Guest and Dr Satinder Singh, Principal Women College, Kathua was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Urdu Department, Women College, Kathua were also present in the presidium. While speaking on the occasion, DC appreciated the poets and especially the students of the college who recited their poetry for the first time in this multilingual Mushaira. While appreciating the poets of the kathua region he said that Kathua District is popular for its lingual and cultural diversity and the peots and writers of the area play an important role for maintaining communal harmony, lingual and cultural diversity and regional identity. He said that J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages will organize such more activities in this region. Dr Satinder Singh while addressing the guests, students and poets thanked the J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages for organizing this multilingual Mushaira and said that Degree College for Women, kathua will welcome such more fuctions of culture and literature of the region. He also complimented the participating poets from the college who first time presented their poems which were highly appreciated While welcoming the distinguished guests and students, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that Academy has decided to organize literary activities including Mushairas and short-story goshties in the interiors of the entire Districts of Jammu region. |
