DUDA distributes certificates, stipend

Kathua, Aug 29: District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) today distributed certificates and stipend among beneficiaries under six month skill development training programme.
Speaking on the occasion Project Officer, DUDA Jaffar Abass Batt highlighted importance of skill development training programmes through which unemployed youths can generate self-employment ventures.
He highlighted the importance of various schemes and asked the youths to step forward and take maximum benefits of trainings and various other benefits of these scheme so that maximum employment can be generated and instead of looking for govt. jobs they can setup their own ventures.
Abbass highlighted three Social Security Schemes viz Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) which will offer a renewal one year Rupees two lakh accident cum disability cover (Rupees One Lakh for partial permanent disability) to all savings bank account holders in the age group of 18 to 70 years for a premium of Rs 12/- per annum per subscriber to be auto-debited from the subscriber's bank account on enrolment in the scheme.
Er. Mavi Kapoor, Manager, Social Mobilization and Infrastructure Development, DUDA Kathua gave detailed information about the sub components of the Mission and requested the gathering to aware the localities in Kathua vicinity about this Centrally Sponsored Scheme NULM so that needy Urban Poor will be benefitted.
He gave a brief resume on the components of the Mission viz Self Help Groups, Self Employment Programme, Support to Urban Street Vendors and Scheme of Shelter for Urban Homeless. He told that these CSS are made for taking advantage and Urban Poor should have to take advantage of these.
Bushan Singh, Manager (Skill and Micro Enterprises) DUDA Kathua briefed on another two components of the Mission viz Capacity Building and Training and Employment through Skills Training and Placement (EST&P). He told that Skill training is the need of the hour and those who have skill will be adjusted anywhere in any sector.
