Public, PDD join hands to create loss-free power distribution system | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: As part of power reforms, Electric and Maintenance and RE Div-III, Jammu and the residents of Public of Gopi Nath Vihar Udheywala area have joined hands to create loss and theft-free model distribution feeders. The innovative move taken in the month of June this year has greatly helped in improving the power supply scenario providing much relief to people of the area. While reviewing the progress in this regard today at a public meet, the residents vociferously supported the move of the department in view of tremendous improvement noticed in the power supply position in the area. The efforts of the department as well as public resulted into huge load reduction thereby making the system adequate to supply uninterrupted power to the residents of the Udheywala area. Likewise to create another loss free feeder to eradicate the menace of power theft the Executive Engineer, ED-III convened a public meeting with the residents of Roop Nagar area. The public has assured extending cooperation to the department by eradicating the menace of power theft. In this regard, Bhushan Mahajan, a resident of Gopi Nath Vihar Udheywala, expressed his concern over the increasing number of Juggies/temporary hutments which has resulted into the increasing cases of Power pilferage, besides the involvement of some workers of the Department in encouraging these malpractices. He however appreciated the measures taken by the department by laying neutral cables in many areas and suggested that this exercise should be further extended in other congested areas also. The people were assured if they continue to extend their support to the department in the same manner the existing system shall be quiet adequate to meet their demand. It was also advised that an FIR shall be lodged against the power thieves and they shall be challenged in the court of law. The Meeting was held in the office Chamber of Er Sanjay Sharma, Executive Engineer Electric M&RE Division-III Jammu in which Er. J.P. Singh, AEE, Er. S.S. Manhas, AEE, Er. Rakeshwar Dubey, AE, Er. Surinder Thappa, JE, Er. Divya Gupta ,JE, represented the department and a deputation of Padam Nath, V.K. Mehta, Rajesh Rathore from Roop Nagar area and Bhushan Mahajan, Dr. Kalu Ram, Parladh Singh represented public side. |
