JAMMU, Sept 22: A deputation of Jammu & Kashmir Kisan Tehreek (JKKT) affiliated with All India Kisan Sabha met Vice Chairman J&K Kisan Advisory Board in his office chamber here today. Led by Comrade Kishore Kumar state President along with Banarsi Dass, Sham Prasad Kesar, Seva Ram Bhagat, Dharam Singh, Mohinder Singh, Jagdish Chander, Subedar Baba Ram, Master Barita Ram, Ramesh Singh, the deputation submitted a charter of demands to Vice Chairman J&K Kisan Advisory Board Daljeet Singh Chib. The demands include procurement of paddy through government agencies like FCI, compensation for damage of wheat/maize due to rains and hailstorms, free electricity for water pumps for irrigation purpose, interest free credit for poor peasantries, crop insurance, protection of crops from wild animals like monkeys and bears, ensure cost + 50% for all crops as per Swaminathan commission report, strengthen PDS, ensure 200 days work for MNREGA @ Rs. 300 per daily wages, stop attack and social atrocities on women, dalits, tribals and minorities. After detailed discussion, chairman of the board assured the leaders of Kisan Tehreek that he will take up the issues with the CM & Deputy CM while Manager Food Corporation of India assured to immediately start procurement centers in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts. |
