NC, BJP men lock horns at DC's meet with prominent citizens

Kishtwar, Sept, 22: Local leaders of National conference and BJP at Kishtwar entered into a verbal brawl during the meeting of the prominent citizens called by the DC Kishtwar on Tuesday. A potentially embarrassing situation was however dissuaded by the intervention of the DC.
Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Saugat Biswas had called a meeting of prominent citizens at Kishtwar wherein various issues pertaining to development, availability of essential commodities and challenges in education and healthcare, and law and order were discussed. The meeting was attended by all the senior police and administrative officers.
During the course of the meeting heated arguments broke out between National Conference representative Qazi Jalal Din, Ex MLA Inderwal and BJP senior leader Brig Mohan Sharma and Anil Parihar over working of the government, but timely intervention of the DC restored order.
Qazi also warned the administration over the working of certain officers in the administration.
He assured full support for smooth functioning of the administration. He said that his party will not remain a mute spectator in case administration resorted to "Pick and Choose" policy.
The meeting deliberated upon various aspects related to the basic facilities and essential commodities available in the town as well as the district. The issue of growing challenges of increasing crime and other social evils in the society were also discussed threadbare.
In his address DC Kishtwar highlighted the importance of these interactive sessions in bridging the gap between the society and the Administration.
He also termed them beneficial for the betterment of the society and curbing the evils from the society. He sought people's cooperation for eradication of social evils from the society and assured all possible support from the district administration for making Kishtwar district free from social evils and crime.
On the issues concerning Health, Agricultural, Horticultural, CAPD, poor mobile connectivity, dilapidated roads etc, DC Kishtwar assured that positive changes will be seen shortly.
District Superintendent of police Yougal Manhas assured that fool proof deployment of paramilitary forces as well as district police will be put into force, for that special rehearsal will be exercised in time with all duty magistrates and order shall be maintained.
Among the prominent who spoke on this occasion include Mushtaq Hap, Qazi Jalal-ud-Din, Brig Mohan Sharma, Sheikh Ghulam Haider, Wahid Sarroori, Ishtaq Waza, Arshad Giri, Ajaiz Naik, Manmohan Gupta, Jagdish Raj Aryan and others.
