Beef ban or no ban; all ears and eyes intent
BJP-PDP combo set for litmus test on Oct 3

Early Times Special
Jammu, Sept 22: The elite genre of the state, particularly Jammu region, though it does not support the argument that the ban on beef has come from court at a time when people of the state have started understanding the fact that BJP-PDP combo in Jammu and Kashmir is not being digested in valley and is another issue thrown in to hit the combination after AIIMS and other petty spoilers , yet they confirm that issues are being deliberately cropped up to put an early finish to present dispensation.
After the AIIMS row in Jammu, which got an unceremonial burial in the hands of AIIMS Coordination Committee, followed by couple of more offshoots of continuous efforts to sow more issues of discontent in state, comes the beef ban and anti beef ban spoiler that is allegedly all set to dent the sate on communal and regional lines .
If the current situation be analyzed since the formation of BJP-PDP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, it is churn in valley that refuses to assimilate saffron tinge to their hard core green agenda that suits Pakistan and ISI ideology, leave aside Jammu, the region always taken as granted by centre and state as a marginalized expansion of human dumps.
The PDP clan, which ran quite comfortably with its chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed pegged on a contented hinge of the coalition fulcrum until the beef ban and its reciprocal tiff from valley does not dragged him into soup for Oct 3 hearing in the assembly, the BJP clout under the leadership of Nirmal Singh as the deputy chief minister always walked the double edged sword with valley not taking it on its face value while Jammu 'realizing' that its 'nationalist' party has succumbed to valley diktats.
More obsessed with his frequent visits to his constituency Billawar and making small and long term plans for execution there only, the deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh is now being apparently recognized as caretaker chief minister of Billawar only.
Is he consolidating his power in his constituency for being kept recognized as the man of masses of Billawar for apparently smelling the fast end to the coalition's drama in the state could be a wild guess, but the trends point towards certain developments also cannot be ignored even.
The Deputy Chief Minister's broad, wild and awkward parried smile in front of the union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, when a question put forth by a reporter at ITBP meet that BJP-PDP is not doing well in state showed the bitter truth reflecting out.
But, however, knowing the developing facts in the state and the party's feedback voiced with people of Jammu's concern to the New Delhi is an irritating rationale with Nirmal Singh and the BJP which he and party cannot afford to ward off now.
How the PDP handles the beef ban or no ban in state is now only one way out for the government's survival towards which all ears and eyes are intent.
