Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 22: In blatant disregard for the court orders, the police has failed to seize a disputed automobile workshop in Poorkho area. According to advocate Parvez Ahmed, counsel for Ashwani Kumar whose automobile workshop has been taken by the land owners, the Chief Judicial Magistrate had issued directions to Station House Officer of Kanachack police station to seize the property. The police, however, did not obey the court orders, prompting the CJM to issue another order directing the cops to implement its previous order. "Since the SHO is hand-in-glove with the land owners who have illegally and forcefully captured the workshop, the order was not implemented," Parvez said. Finally, the court issued a contempt of court notice. "Shockingly, the SHO remained unmoved and did not implement the orders," the lawyer said, adding that even the higher authorities are aware about the "misdeeds of the SHO but nobody dares to take him to task." Parvez said his client Ashwani had moved an application before the CJM Jammu alleging that his service centre had been captured by Balwan Singh forcefully. "Balwant had leased out the land to Ashwani. There is a proper rent deed for five years. Ashwani spent around Rs 15 lakh to establish the workshop, but the land owner violated the rent agreement and has forcefully taken the workshop," Parvez said. He said since his client had taken a loan from bank, he has now become a defaulter, as his workshop is closed. Balwan Singh and his sons are running the service-centre since February 2015. Parvez said that the matter was also brought into the notice of IGP, Jammu, who immediately took cognizance of the complaint of the victim and directed SSP Jammu and SDPO Domana to look into it. "Unfortunately, despite directions from IGP, the SHO does not care," he said. SDPO Domana, Surinder Kumar, could not be contacted for his comment. |
