POONCH, Sept 22: In view of ensuing Eid-ul-Azha, a team of officers of the district administration conducted a surprise inspection of several trade establishments here today.
The team conducted surprise raids of sweet shops, karyana stores, vegetable shops, hardware stores, poultry and meat sellers, hotels and on-spot booked and fined several traders indulging in anti-consumer practices.
The CAPD department compounded several cases on the spot and realized an amount of Rs. 2450 as composition sum whereas Legal Metrology and other departments realized an amount of Rs. 2000.
The team asked the traders to ensure exact quantity and quality of commodity to the consumers besides directing them to display approved rate list and license prominently in their premises. |
