Jammu, Sept 22: Following specific instructions from Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali to carry out market checks, the Deputy Commissioner and Director CA&PD, Jammu, have constituted two teams to conduct market checking campaigns in city which realized Rs 21,500/- from the defaulters as fine. According to spokesperson, one of the teams is headed by Shehnaz Akhtar AC (G) with representatives of CAPD, Revenue department, Legal metrology, Municipality and Police as members conducted drive in old city. "This team visited various markets in different areas of Shaheedi Chowk, Talab Khatikan, Rajinder Bazar, Kanak Mandi," an official said. He said that second team, headed by Atam Dev Singh, Deputy Director CAPD accompanied with AD CAPD Circle-I, two inspectors as members, visited the areas of Janipur, Bantalab, Roopnagar, Lakar Mandi, New plots, Ustad Mohalla and Kacchi Chowani. The two teams checked display of rate lists, cleanliness, quality, weights and measures, hoarding and profiteering," official said and added that a total of nearly Rs 21,500/- were recovered from the defaulters as fine. |
