Jammu, Sept 23: Exposing the lackadaisical approach of the incumbent Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu (JU) towards the streamlining of Re-Evaluation process despite directions of the Governor, N N Vohra in this regard , the National Secular Forum (NSF) Tuesday urged the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor to take stern action against Prof R D Sharma. Addressing a press conference, Surjit Choudhary while referring data procured through a RTI reply No. PIO/JU/15/31947 dated 10-Sep-2015. He mentioned that the process of re-evaluation was plagued in many ways and he said, "Controller Wing of JU took 106 days to declare the re-evaluation result of 29 students of M.A Dogri (Semester-II), 99 days to declare the re-evaluation result of 37 students of M.A Hindi (Semester-II), 116 days to declare the re-evaluation result of 56 candidate of M.A Economics- (Semester-II) and worst is the case where University took 92 days to declare the result of just three students of M.A Statistics (Semester-IV), 70 days to declare the re-evaluation result of 2 candidate of M.A Punjabi -(Semester-3rd), 76 days to declare the re-evaluation result of 8 students of Economics(ECPP) (Semester-II) and 134 days to declare the result of a single students of M.A Kashmiri (Semester -IV)" Choudhary further said that there were many other instances where result of the MA English(Semester-4th), MA URDU (Semester-4th),MA Sanskrit (Semester-4th) , MA Dogri (Semester-4th), M.A Sociology (Semester-4th) were declared after 151, 139, 94, 87 and 101 days respectively. However, the University Statutes say that result of the re-evaluation must be declared within 45 days but the same is being flouted by none other than JU authorities themselves, he added. |
