BJP looking for excuses to cover up its failures

Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 23: As the beef ban issue snowballs into a major controversy, the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party has started looking for some face saving to cover up its failures ever since coming to power in Jammu and Kashmir in alliance with PDP.
Passing buck to others is new strategy of the BJP for its failures and alleged surrender to alliance partner PDP over the contentious issues, which have exposed the saffron brigade among Jammu people, who had voted the party with a historic number from this region in the last Assembly elections.
According to the sources in BJP circles, the party leadership today submitted these reasons of its failures in performance before the national general secretary and Incharge J&K affairs, Ram Madhav during his crucial meetings here today.
The main reason listed for failure of BJP to protect the interests of Jammu people and delivering efficient governance, was the allotment of important portfolios to PDP, which kept the alliance partner cornered on all the issues, sources added.
While elaborating, sources explained that the BJP leadership complained to Ram Madhav that the party was unable to deliver because the portfolios like Home, Finance, Planning and Development, Public Works Department (Roads and Buildings), Revenue, Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development Department were being held by the PDP.
In absence of the party control over these departments, the BJP was on back foot following issuance of some controversial orders by the concerned ministries, the BJP explained and quoted instances like imposition of Service Tax on chopper service to Mata Vaishno Devi, delay in Police reshuffle, no say in transfers and postings of Revenue officers and BDOs, who play major role in administration control at ground level. Had the Ministry of Law allotted to BJP, its counsels would have not been disengaged over the beef ban controversy, claimed a BJP minister while defending his own performance.
