Jammu, Sept 23: First time after almost 3 decades Rajput community of J&K organized a Shobha Yatra in the shape of Car/Motorcycle rally which was organized by the Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) on the eve of 121st Birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji today. The Shobha Yatra which was started from MD Resort, Bantalab passed through Chinore, Janipur, Newplot, Ambphala, Panjtirthi, Kachi Chawni, Parade, Shalamar, Indira Chowk, Gummat, and culminated at Tawi Bridge near Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's Samarak where the team of YRS performed Puja Archana for Maharaja. Apart from the general Rajput community, the rally was attended by prominent dignitaries. Earlier, the members of Rajput community including youth, ladies, elders, childrens, etc started gathering at Bantalab where most of them were seen in their traditional dresses wearing pyjama kurtas and Kesri pagri (Turban) on their heads. They were chanting slogans like Jai Rajputana, Yuva Rajput Sabha Zindabad, Maharaja Hari Singh ji Amar rahein, Rajput Welfare Board Sthapit karo, etc. Addressing the gathering at Tawi Bridge, Surinder Singh Gilli, State President Yuva Rajput Sabha, said that Rajputs are the real creators of the J&K state who fought tooth and nail to extend the boundries of Jammu state to Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, touching the boundries of Afganistan, China, etc but unfortunately Rajput community is being ignored and thrown in shambles since 1947 when Kashmiri Rulers took over Maharaja Hari Singh ji. Meanwhile 121st Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated in Sainik colony with full enthusiasm. The people in large number gathered at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk and celebrated the birthday. The function was organized by Sikander Singh Kuka and Sonu Jamwal of guru Kirpa caterers. Jai Singh, ex corporator was the chief guest on this occasion. Th. Jai Singh highlighted the main achievements of Maharaja Hari Singh. He was considered as the secular king of the state. He quoted that justice was his religion. He treated all religions alike. Maharaja Hari Singh had done many social works also. He built hospitals, colleges in the state. He stopped female infanticide in the state. He built road connectivity from Jammu to Srinagar. |
