Quarterfinals line up drawn in Volleyball

JAMMU, Sept 23: Quarterfinals position has been cleared in the ongoing inter-college men's volleyball tournament, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education on the campus grounds, here today.
Teams reaching the last four stages are Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur, GGM Science College, Government MAM College, GDC Hiranagar, GDC Surankot, GDC Poonch and PG Departments.
Now, the quarterfinals have been scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The Detailed Results: Pre-quarterfinals: GDC Udhampur beat GDC Rajouri 2-0 (25-23, 25-15); GGM Science College beat GDC Akhnoor 2-0 (25-19, 25-23); MAM College beat GDC Bhaderwah 2-0 (25-13, 25-23); GDC Hiranagar beat GDC Mendhar 2-0 (25-17, 25-18); GDC Surankot beat GDC Ramnagar 2-1 (14-25, 25-23, 15-12); GDC Poonch beat GDC Samba 2-0 (25-16, 26-24); PG Departments beat GDC Kathua 2-0 (25-12, 25-13).
Today's matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Mulkh Raj, Shivali Dogra, Amit Sharma and Shavli Charak under the supervision of event incharge and JU volleyball coach, Vikas Karlopia.
HOCKEY: Meanwhile, in inter-college men and women's hockey tournament, being held on the JU grounds, the teams have made it to the semifinals stages.
The Results: PG Arts beat GDC Kathua 3-1 (Rajveer Singh, Gourav Jamwal and Manmohan Sharma were scorers from PG while Aashish Sharma reduced the margin from GDC Kathua. GDC Poonch beat PG Law and Sciences) 5-0 (Saval Ahmed netted two goals while Sahil Sharma, Gorav Raina and Abishekh Puri added one each).
Government SPMR College of Commerce beat Government MAM College 4-3 (Pushpinder Singh scored two goals while Birvek Singh and Balmeet Singh were other scorers).
MBS College of Engineering and Technology beat GGM Science College 7-0 (Prabjot Singh, second, Gurtejbir Singh (10th and 55th), Navleen Singh (23rd), Jagandeep Singh (40th), Sandeep Singh (56th) and Amitpal Singh (60th) were the scorers.
