After salaries, now ReTs waiting for MDM dues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 23: Amid efforts of Minister for Education to improve prevailing situation in government of schools, the government teachers, especially ReTs are facing difficulties as dues for mid-day-meal, is not timely being released. The teacher fraternity especially for RETs in district Kathua is at the verge of starvation due to their salary problem, as they have not been paid for five to six months, Retired Master Shiv Nandan said. He further said that the Mid-Day-Meal dues are also not being given them for the last one and half year. "They took loan from the market (shopkeeper). Now the shopkeepers refuse to give any more material without clearing the previous amount which is about Rs 20, 000 to Rs 1, 50, 000", he added. Said that the government is pressurizing the teachers to continue MDM scheme in the school, how it is possible? If you are not paying them, he questioned. "How is this possible for the teachers to continue the MDM scheme, more over their school cooks (helper to food for students) are not been paid their dues for the same period of time", he said. He said that ReTs have played an important role to revitalize education in state, it was also visionary of the Mufti-Sahib, now the time has come to rescue the teaching community and strengthen it for progress of J&K state. Master Shiv Nandan further said that the government, especially chief minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, who has pro-people approach, should take the cognizance of the matter for revival of education in government school. "Our education sector required due-care for its revival and Mufti Sahib has potential to meet the expectation of the people, he should move ahead in this direction", he opined. |
