Various Schools celebrate Gandhi Jayanti

JAMMU, Oct 1: Various institution of Jammu today celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervor and gaiety.
JK Montessorie. JK Montessorie Sr. Sec. School and its affiliated unit JK Little Millennium International School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in the school premises with great Zeal & enthusiasm here today. It was in a unique way that Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with dozens of little boys as "Mahatma Gandhi" and little girls as "Baa Kasturba". The boys wore special head -gear to create the receding Bapu, horn- rimmed glasses stick and the white dhoti and girls wore cotton handloom saries with make-up of " Baa Kasturba".
It was an emotional scene as the children sang " Sabarmati ke sant tune Kar diya Kamal , De Dee Hamein Azaadi Bina Khadga Bina Dhal" and "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram".
The teachers narrated to the children the importance of Mahatma Gandhi teachings, the greatness of Ahimsa and the non - violent struggle spearheaded by Bapu to win India's independence.
Dewan Devi Playway School , the birth anniversary of the father of the Nation "Mahatma Gandhi" was celebrated at Dewan Devi Playway School, Rajpura Jammu with great gaiety. The tender buds of the school acknowledged the contribution of 'Bapu' to the nation. Many cultural items were presented by the students on the occasion which enthralled the audience. Students attired in colourful dresses, presented various cultural programmes on 'Bapu Gandhi'.
On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, and as a mark of respect to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, students of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering & IT of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) visited Mother Teresa Home in Jammu. The students were accompanied with faculty members and departmental coordinators. The students visited Mother Teresa Home which is a home away from home for the uncared, mentally and physically challenged people. Essential commodities of daily use were distributed among them by the students to make their lives a bit more comfortable and easy.
Jammu Sanskriti School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Birth Anniversary of Lal Bhadur Shastriji with the theme Swachh Bharat and green India. A special assembly was organized on this occasion.Assembly began with floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhadhur Shastriji by the Principal cum Vice chairperson Rohini Aima, co-ordinators and students of the school. This was followed by message on Mahatma Gandhi by Pawandeep Kour. Before the conclusion principal cum vice chairperson Rohini Aima enriched the students and staff with her fruitful, visionary message on this important day.
With an aim to rekindle the love for Mahatma Gandhi among the students, St. Mary's Infant Pre School (SMIPS) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in the school premises today.
A ceremonial lamp was lighted to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of Nation-Mahatama Gandhi. The tiny tots offered garlands to the picture of Gandhiji and lit candles in his fond memory.
Euro Care Pre School, Trikuta Nagar celebrated Grandparents' day as well as Gandhi Jayanti. It is celebrated every year to give opportunity to the school kids to honor their elders. The Grandparents' day was started with a prayer and then a group song was dedicated to grandparents. The grandparents were given opportunity to share experiences about their grandchildren. The chief guest of the occasion was Dy SP Sugandha Mahajan while Harmeet Kour was guest of honour.
The students of Mother's Pride & Joy Pre- Primary School celebrated "Gandhi Jayanti & Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" by organizing a rally here today at Bahu Plaza Park. To give out a message of Mahatma Gandhi, children created the perfect ambience for remembering this great leader who is looked upon as a role model for embracing truth and non- violence all through his life not only in India, but also by the Global community. Bapu's unwavering values and strong conviction which are still very relevant in today's world.
May Fair Hr Sec School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti by organizing a Swachhta Abhiyaan at School premises as well as notified areas of City. Students from the higher classes participated in the Rally along with the organizer of the Rally, Lalita Chadha, School administrator and Kanwaljeet Kour, activity coordinator of the School under the supervision of Suchi Gupta, Vice principal. A program for the junior classes was also organized at School in which the Students participated in the fancy dress competition and sang songs as well as poems.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great enthusiasm.The assembly began with the Shradhanjali to Mahatma Gandhi.Students of class 7th enthralled the audience with their melodious voice by singing Gandhiji's favourite song ' Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram'.
Principal Anita Bhatia said Gandhi Jayanti is the right time to take an oath to follow Gandhian principles and make life free from the chains of hatred and violence.
The students created a patriotic ambiance by enacting life of the father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi clad in dresses depicting Mahatma Gandhi,the students from primary wing recited beautiful poems on Gandhiji.
Lord Mahavira Playway school has celebrated " Gandhi - jayanti" with great enthusiasm in the school premises. The little angles of Prenursery and Nursery classes came in the attire of " Mahatma Gandhi" and Kasturba Gandhi". Later on, The Principal of the school Madhu Sharma threw some light on the "life of Mahatma Gandhi".
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with austerity and religious fervour at KC Gurukul Public School, with a special morning assembly organized by the students of the school. The programme kicked off with a skit by the senior students depicting life and teachings of Gandhi ji -the father of the nation. Speeches, dances, songs, quotes and slogans by the junior students were the other main highlights of the programme.
Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER organized a number of events to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The day first started with a special assembly in which students presented speeches on Gandhiji's contribution in making India independent. The choir group of the school also presented the favourite bhajans of Gandhi ji.
SOS Hermann Gmeiner School today celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with fervor and gusto here at school campus. On the occasion, floral tribute was paid to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhadur Shastri during morning assembly. Children delivered speeches and sang patriotic songs. Speaking on the occasion Principal R. K. Dhar highlighted the relevance of teachings of Gandhi Ji in the present scenario. The programme culminated with singing of National Anthem.
Flower Kids Nursery School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervour and Zeal. in which Keshav Chopra District General Secretary BJYM was chief quest, The tiny toddlers were attired as Gandhi ji. Childrens presented various programme on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.. Students presented various songs in the praise of Father of the Nation, followed by recitation of poems by the toddlers.
Vinayak Institute of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences Celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. The Management, Staff & Students of Vinayak Institute of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences, Kunjwani Celebrated Gandhi Jyanti at Campus by organizing Cleanliness drives by nursing wing of Institute, in which they cleaned every nook & Corner of the Institute. A Debate Session on Cleanliness and Swachh Bharat Program of Govt. of India was organized at Institute.
M Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri observed "Gandhi Jayanti" here today in the school premises with great enthusiasm. Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Kawaljeet Kour and staff members were present on the occasion.
The students and staff members of R.M.PUBLIC School held special assembly to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti. Students of Primary and Pre- primary wing performed number of Bhajans including "Raghu Pati Raghav Raja Ram...." The teachers Rajani Choudhary and Gagandeep Kour threw light on the life of Gandhi ji and shared memorable incident of Independence.
