Lecturers' Forum refuses to conduct examination
Menace of mass copying in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Nov 15: Lecturers' Forum Kishtwar today refused to conduct the 12th class examination in far flung areas of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhah areas starting from 16th of this month. The forum has accused Assistant Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Sub Office Kishtwar of floating norms and set procedure for appointing a lecturer, master or teacher for examination duty.
While addressing media persons, the forum leaders stated that as per norms, the board officials should inform them 21 days prior to the examination through Head of the Institutes so that the jobs assigned to them in concern institutes could either be finished before attending examination duty or handed over to some other officials.
The leaders said the lecturers appointed as Superintendent of the examination centres were informed by the board officials only two days ago. They said that few lecturers and teachers assigned for the job of conducting the examination were recalled and instead new list was prepared at three different levels one each by board officials, CEO Kishtwar office as well as Dy. The CEO thus raising suspicions over the way the issue is being held.
They said that Marwah and Warwan areas are far flung and unconnected areas presently under huge cover of snow which took two to three days to them to reach, adding that under present circumstances it is very difficult for them to carry stationary weighing over one quintal to Marwah and Warwan.
They said that 10th class private examination held last month is an eye opener for everyone when two police men were caught on camera while promoting mass copying. They said that there is a security apprehension to them as well with regard to the threat from mass copying mafia. They urged upon senior BOSE officials to conduct probe in the function of board office Kishtwar so as to unmask the mass copying nexus in the District.
When contacted CEO Kishtwar Abdul Hamid Fani out rightly rejected the allegations of Lecturer Forum adding that JK Board is an autonomous body and his department has no role in selecting or conducting examination. He said that the department only provided the list of lecturers, masters and teachers to board officials available with the department adding that his office is only monitoring the conduct of examination and has no role in selecting the staff for examination duty which is done by the board officials itself.
On Marwah mass copying, CEO Kishtwar said that the inquiry report in this regard is almost complete and assured that action will be initiated against the guilty persons.
