Kargil Goodwill school celebrates Annual day

UDHAMPUR, Nov 15 : On the occasion of Children's Day, Army Goodwill School at Farona (Kargil) functioning under the aegis of Army's 8 Mountain Division, celebrated its Annual Day.
Poonam Joshy, Deputy Convener, Army Wives Welfare association (AWWA) was the Chief Guest on this grand occasion. Mohammad Ali, Zonal Educational Officer, LAHDC was also in attendance. In addition to the students, the gathering comprising parents, soldiers, civil and military dignitaries, enjoyed every moment of the event.
The chief guest applauded the children for staging an excellent show of talent in cultural variety entertainment programme including dance, songs and skits which instilled National Integration with patriotic fervour. The Chief Guest expressed her gratitude to the teaching staff in making Army Goodwill School the pride of the region and grooming the future generations.
The meritorious students and winners of various competitions were felicitated. The ZEO mentioned about the indomitable spirit of Indian Army in safe guarding the nation and also appreciated the steps taken to improve the lives of the local populace. The initiative of setting up Army Goodwill Schools (AGS) in Kargil has been greatly welcomed by people living in these areas. Azad House won the Best House Trophy and Miss Khairun Nissa of Class VII was adjudged the Best Student of year.
The admission to the Army Goodwill Public School in Farona (Kargil) is much sought after due to the quality of education it offers and the state-of-the- art facilities. It was widely held that the school set up by the Army so as to provide uninterrupted and quality education.
The syllabus in the school facilitates students an easy transition to other institutions of higher learning in the state. The popularity of the school and the faith reposed by students and parents alike in them are also apparent.
The school prepares students for all-India entrance examinations and higher education.
