Jammu, Jan 25 : The vigilance organization, Kashmir, (VOK) has registered a case of corruption against ex-Handwara MLC Mohammad Sultan Ganie Pandit Puri.
An FIR No 03/2016 was registered against him at police station, VOK, under section 5(1) D read with section 5(2) of P C Act Svt 2006 on the basis of a December 10, 2015 communication forwarded to it by GAD vide No GAD (Vig) 89-comp/2014.
The case was registered on the basis of the conclusion arrived at by the State Accountability Commission (SAC) in a complaint lodged with it by Sonuallah Mir, son of Abdul Subhan Mir of Batagund Handara, Kupwara wherein it was alleged that Pandit Puri had demanded and accepted Rs 60,000 gratification from him for getting his son and son-in-law appointed in J&K police department. The allegations were verified and established by SAC.
