For posting 'wrong' message on WhatsApp group, CJM summons 'accused'

Kishtwar, Jan 25: For allegedly posting a 'wrong' message on a WhatsApp group about a PHE employee, CJM, Kishtwar, Balbir Lal Jaswal today issued summons to the accused, directing him to appear in the court on the next date of hearing.
The CJM, took cognizance on the complaint filed by PHE department employee Abdul Wahid Sheikh, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Astan Paien, Kishtwar, against Joginder Bhandari, son of Roshan Lal Bhandari of ward No 7, Bhandari Mohalla under sections 500 and 506 of RPC and 66 A IT Act for allegedly spreading a message against the complainant on Whatsapp and issued the summons to the accused, directing him to appear in the court on February 19, 2016, the next date of hearing.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the petitioner, through his counsel, submitted that he was presently working as incharge Junior Engineer in PHE and had been discharging his duties from last more than 30 years.
He alleged that the accused was a self styled social activist who was habitual of making such defamatory remarks against various other respectable persons of the society to 'blackmail' them.
In his complaint, he submitted that the accused had on January 19, 2016 posted a message on Kashmir Manzar-114 WhatsApp group, alleging therein that there had been an embezzlement of crores of rupees in PHE schemes in Chatroo and Saroor areas.
He had also posted similar 'false' messages on WhatsApp against some other PHE employees, the complainant alleged.
"He had also posted a message against PHE employee Jameel Khan and thereafter contacted his family friend Mohammad Imran Main and asked him to convey the complainant that he should meet him in case he does not want any further injury to his reputation. In support of the complaint, the counsel of complainant also produced the print out of messages circulated by the accused through his mobile phone on "Whatsapp groups "Kashmir Manzar-114" and "Sarzameen E Kishtwar".
