Jammu, Jan 25: Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu, Sanjay Gupta today rejected the bail application of Rayaz Ahmed, Showkat Ahmed and Rasikh Khursheed, alleged to be narco-smugglers.
All hail from Anantnag and were arrested by Pucca Danga police under section 8/21 of NDPS Act and 6/13 of DC Act. 834 bottles of Ramcaf were recovered from them at the time of their arrest.
The judge, after hearing the two sides, observed that as per prosecution case since each bottle contained 100 ml of syrup, 834 bottles contained 83,400 ml of it which is about 83 kg. As per the NDPS Act, commercial quantity was 1 kg and it was a bar as per 37 NDPS Act to grant bail in commercial quantity, he said. With these observations, the court rejected the bail applications of all the three accused.
