Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 2: An Inspector, who was the Station House Officer of a police station here, was transferred to another district, following allegations of corruption against him leveled by the locals, sources told Early Times on Tuesday. They said this was for the second time the said inspector has been transferred in the past one year. During his earlier posting as the SHO of a police station in Jammu city, he was removed and attached with the District Police Lines. During his 6-month posting at the police station, people lodged several complaints against him. He was also alleged to be involved in some land deals. Sources said he was also reprimanded by a senior officer for his alleged 'unlawful' acts. However, when complaints against him showed no signs of receding, the senior officer ordered his transfer to the other district and asked the SSP concerned not to post him as SHO of any police station in his district, the sources added. In the transfer order, it has been clearly mentioned that the Inspector Kulbir Singh has been transferred to Kathua from Jammu in view of number of complaints against him by the locals of the area. The order read as, "Inspector Kulbir Singh is transferred from Jammu to Kathua district being a senior most in district Jammu/ in view of complaints by locals of the area". Pertinently, locals of Bishnah area have lodged many complaints against Inspector Kulbir Singh. Further, one more Inspector who was under transfer for the last two years and was unwilling to get relieved from Jammu has been sent to district Kathua. The Inspector Satvinder Singh was under transfer to district Kathua vide RPHQ Jammu's OB No 459 of 2014 dated 22.10.2014, but contrary to the order, he was attached to the G.Os Mess Jammu. The others who have been adjusted and transferred in Jammu district include Inspector Suresh Kumar, Inspector Rajeshwer Singh, Inspector Satish Kumar and Inspector Ragubir Singh while Inspector Susheel Kumar has been adjusted in district Kathua. Two other Inspectors including Kulbir Singh and Ajeet Singh have been transferred to Kathua and Samba respectively. Meanwhile, another complaint has been lodged with IGP Jammu against the Sub Inspector (SI) Ranjeet Singh Rao, posted as ICPP Beli Charana by one Harmohinder Singh, Elected member ward No 6 Cantonment Board Jammu, demanding his transfer to other place. He has alleged that he (SI) is in hand and glove with the land grabbers. As per complaint, "The said officer is minting money from the general public and has also grabbed a chunk of government land by constructing a plinth on it and working as a property dealer in the area. On 27/1/2016 he tried his best to help a local party to grab a piece of land at Upper Beli Charana Jammu Cantt but court taking the cognizance of the matter and SHO Satwari intervening in the matter restricted the local party to grab the land, sources added. |
